Community Social Activities

Access Community, Social And Rec Activities

Provision of support to enable a participant to engage in a community, social and/or recreational activity.

In this support group the participant receives the assistance of a support worker to be able to be involved in community activities that are of specific interest to the participant.

The NDIS recognises that that each participant is an individual and has their own support requirements and interests. This support allows the participant to access and explore hobbies and interests with the assistance of a support worker.

These shifts generally consist of the support worker picking up the participant from their home, taking them to the activity and helping them be actively involved in the activity. The participant is generally assisted at home and can request the support worker stay with the participant to provide further social interaction or assistance with self care activities.
